Sonae believes that its businesses can contribute towards promoting the social and cultural well being of the communities among which it operates. It has thus over the years encouraged developing a knowledge of culture through its support of activities, projects and events, carried out in partnership with other organisations.

The priority areas that have merited Sonae’s support are Heritage (through Culture and the Arts) and Knowledge (through Science, Education and Innovation).

Sonae is a founder member of the Casa da Música and the Fundação de Serralves.
